A group of Brazilian researchers identified a type of bee propolis which proved to be effective, at least in laboratory tests, to combat human leukemic cells. The medicinal properties of the natural substance was identified by a group of researchers coordinated by Yong Park, professor of the Faculty of Food Engineering (FEA) at the University of Campinas Unicamp, which studies the use of propolis since  1995.
