Representatives of the Federal University of Pampa (Unipampa) presented the Sectorial Chamber of the project for construction Bee-O-Tech, a Beekeeping unit specializing in studies of beekeeping, located in San Gabriel. "Our intention is to concentrate on research in biotechnology bee," said the professor of Unipampa, JulianoTomazzoni.

No projeto constam trabalhos voltados para análise da qualidade do mel, nutrição das abelhas, determinação da microbiota do mel e identificação dos componentes do pólen, entre outros. “Com os recursos tecnológicos que pretendemos aplicar, será possível avaliar a presença de flavonóides (antioxidantes também presentes no vinho), metais pesados e agrotóxicos. Além disso, será possível identificar a presença de vírus e também saber de forma exata de que florada foi produzido o mel”, explicou o professor.
