A laboratory located in Taui , 140 km from Sao Paulo, developed a line of beauty creams based on the venom of the honey bee. The product approved by the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and commercially released works as a "natural botox" - the skin reacts to the poison increasing collagen production and improving elasticity. According to the investigator and  beekeeper Ciro Protta, part owner of the laboratory, the active ingredient of cosmetics, which also contains pollen and honey, is melittin, an amino acid present in bee venom. The substance 'tricks "the skin, giving the feel of a bee sting and triggering a reaction to the venom. The improved blood circulation and dead cells are eliminated, reducing wrinkles.
