At least 25 000 units of honey production in the Mexican state of Chiapas and the Yucatan Peninsula will be affected negatively by the federal government permission to plant 253 000 hectares of genetically modified or transgenic soybeans. This is indicated in a report released by the Mexican Center for Environmental Law (Cemda), using data from the UNAM and the Colegio de la Frontera Sur.
