The government today further liberalised FDI regime, allowing overseas investment in beekeeping and share-pleding for raising external debt. About opening honey beekeeping to FDI, it said the "liberalisation will bring in international best practices to upgrade the product". The measure will help food firms, engaged in honey-processing.

USA- MASSIVE LOSS OF BEEHIVES IN FLORIDA

Florida officials are abuzz as to how millions of honey bees were killed in Brevard County. Several beekeepers in the county have reported lost colonies this week. Charles Smith of Smith Family Honey Company told Stuart News Thursday he lost 400 beehives. He says the bees appeared to have been poisoned.

A german beekeeper is showing to the worldwide audience how to produce good and safe honey in ancient hives, using the same production methods requested to the international honey suppliers!

Farmers from different districts are able to optimize production in different sectors, with technical support from the Cooperative Ltd. Coronel Oviedo and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG). A pioneering partnership is the Caaguazú Beekeepers Society (SAC), which comprises more than eighty beekeepers  in the different municipalities.

BRAZIL- BEEKEEPING COURSE IN PARAIBA

The Cooperative Work in Support of multiple self-promotion organizations (Coonap), which provides technical assistance to INCRA settlements in Paraíba, promoted for three days, a training course for Introduction to Beekeeping Field in the settlement, the city of Salt St. Felix, in Agreste, about 92 km from Joao Pessoa (PB). For three days, 20 persons received  notions about the biology of bees, bee flora, installation of apiaries, methods of settlement and management of hives, tools and costumes needed for the beekeeper, pest control and collection and storage of honey. A second training activity will be promoted when the settlers learn to made  wooden hives.
