"One in five invertebrates (creatures without a backbone) look to be threatened with extinction," said Ben Collen at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) of an 87-page report produced with the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Researchers at the Institute of Food Science and Technology (ICTA) put forward a plan to build strategies in technology development and innovation in Colombian beekeeping chain. According to a chemical engineer Andrés Durán,  the initiative seeks to establish conservation and transformation processes of bee pollen for later use in foods with functional characteristics.

The company Api Cantu is promoting a project called "Apicantours" where groups of fifteen people are given a tour of the apiary, located in Ensenada

Agustin Loren is an "amateur"  beekeeper  from Zuera that has brought forth a bee breeding program pioneer in Spain that allows  to have the best specimens. Through techniques such as bee insemination or breeding queens, Augustin has, as he says, calm and productive bees

José dos Prazeres  Ferreira, leader of the Beekeepers Association of Sierra Caramulo, concerning the purported certification of mountain honey, said "beekeepers then took the ideas," since the state agencies that certify products "have not shown the slightest interest , "as did the local authorities," they could come to us. "

The researcher at the Center for the Study of Social Insects UNESP, Rio Claro, Osmar Malaspina, flawed factors about the high incidence of attacks of bees in our region: chronic deforestation that leads the insects to urban areas, combined with the fact that urbanization is increasing and finds areas of "residence" of these animals.
