EE.UU.- LOS PESTICIDAS Y EL DESORDEN DE COLAPSO DE LAS COLMENAS

Al parecer, los estadounidenses tienden a inventar maneras de resolver algunos problemas con demasiada rapidez, sin tener tiempo para estudiar los posibles efectos negativos a largo plazo. Tal es el caso de una teoría que prevalece acerca de la difícil situación de las abeja melíferas. En el intento de hacer que los cultivos más fuertes y mejor, o un paso hacia adelante, el resultado ha sido la disminución de la abeja con todos sus numerosos beneficios. Esto es dos pasos atrás. Según la investigación, los pesticidas que se utilizan para los cultivos son un problema importante. En un intento para controlar los insectos, la abeja es el daño colateral, siendo que  también es un insecto. Science Daily, en la edición de abril de 2012, describió los estudios que mostraron que un pesticida muy utilizado en los Estados Unidos se relaciona con el marco temporal de la CCD (Desorden de Colapso de las Colmenas).
